Red Gerard, who hails from Silverthorne, Colorado, won the first Team USA gold medal in the Pyegongchange Olympics on Sunday. The exuberant 17-year old was a surprise winner in the men’s slopestyle snowboarding event.

Going from last to first on one run, his age, and accidentally dropping an expletive when he realized he’d won gold has brought Gerard quite a bit of attention. So much so that he’ll be appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC on Tuesday night. The teen will a guest on the show alongside Chef Massimo Bottura and actor Oscar Isaac.
