Teenager who charged his SUV at deputies arrested
El Paso County Sheriff's Office has arrested the teenager wanted on suspicion of charging his SUV at deputies early Friday.
Branden Crum, 19, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree assault, vehicular eluding and vehicle assault.
At 12:38 a.m. Friday, deputies on patrol check spotted a Ford Explorer parked in Fox Run Regional Park at about 12:45 a.m. Deputies approached the SUV because the park is closed after hours, whereupon the driver accelerated towards deputies.
"As they were approaching the vehicle, the vehicle continued to drive forward, which made our deputies have to swerve off the road to avoid an accident," said El Paso County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Natalie Sosa.
They searched the area but could not find either the male driver or the female passenger. At about 3:12 a.m., the passenger called the sheriff's office and talked with deputies in the area. She was not considered a suspect.
