Puma fire west of Colorado Springs 100 percent contained
The 107-acre fire near Lake George in Park County became 100 percent contained Thursday, the U.S. Forest Service said.
An estimated 6 to 8 inches of snow fell on the Puma fire Thursday, and due to road conditions, fire engines were not on scene - but Forest Service employees made it to the edge of the fire to verify the amount of snow covering it.
Officials said the fire - reported just before 5 p.m. Sunday - was caused by people but did not release details. The blaze is located in Park County, about six miles west of Lake George, the Forest Service said.
