Gov. Hickenlooper provides a big boost to a Colorado Springs nonprofit
A beautiful Colorado Springs Friday morning was the backdrop for Gov. John Hickenlooper as he signed House Bill 16-1097 - or the PUC Permit for Medicaid Transportation Providers - into law.
Amblicab Paratransit is one of the agencies that will receive money from the state to help continue its work of transporting the disabled, seniors and low income individuals to and from non-emergency medical appointments.
According to Amblicab Paratransit, the service transports about 375 clients per year across the Pikes Peak region. This bill, signed into law by Hickenlooper at the Amblicab office at 5640 North Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs, will allow Amblicab to increase client transportation by 10 percent.
