St. Patrick's Day gets off to rocky start with shots fired at Colorado Springs' Dublin House bar
Two men angry at being thrown out of a bar in the wee hours of Friday morning fired a gun into the air.
The men drove off but police say they caught up with one later Friday.
Colorado Springs police said they arrested the alleged shooter, Carlisle Porter, 29, on suspicion of felony menacing, misdemeanor and traffic charges.
A second man who was thrown out of Dublin House, 1850 Dominion Way, and fled with Porter in what was believed to be a white Dodge Charger has not been identified.
Dublin House owner Daniel Lewis told The Gazette Friday that Porter was kicked out of the bar because he was grabbing females' buttocks and engaging in other misbehavior. Lewis also said the altercation "was not as bad" as it was reported to be.
Police said Dublin House staff threw the "unruly" men out of the bar about 12:04 a.m., but the two put up a fight. After a scuffle, one of the men returned with a handgun and threatened an employee before raising the gun in the air and shooting off several bullets, police said.
No injuries were reported.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 719-444-7000 or leave an anonymous tip with Pikes Peak Crime Stoppers at 719-634-7867.
