Nature-lovers revel in the beauty, tranquility and luxury accommodations at The Farm, with new phases underway
Residents of The Farm – a master planned community in Academy School District 20 – enjoy enchanting views blended into a down-to-earth, quiet lifestyle with unlimited opportunities right outside their front door. Set against the backdrop of stunning Front Range, families are able to get away from every day hustle and bustle, and find time for floating, boating and fishing, without ever leaving the community.
Farm Filing 2 is now selling, and consists of 95 single-family lots. Homes are priced from the upper $300’s to $1 million. Count Fleet Court, a cul-de-sac in Filing 2, is currently underway and set to become available in spring 2017. This area will feature single-family properties from Vantage Homes, but will also offer low-maintenance living – similar to a patio home community. The Farm is also excited to present Filing 4, which will be comprised of more single-family lots and are due to become available this fall. Custom home sites have been set aside, and these lots will also have a fall 2017 completion date.
“The homes are really looking great at The Farm, with our new take on old classics, such as the modern farmhouse, mountain rustic and craftsman styles,” says Lindsey Nigon, Marketing Director with La Plata Communities. “Plus, we have some great color options for front doors, garage doors and trim. If you’re driving around out there, check out the fun pops of red, yellow and blue, like the red garage door on one of our newest homes on Spectacular Bid!”
The community affords plentiful trails for biking, hiking and strolling, with 12 small pocket parks along the way. Each park will feature a different amenity – be it a park bench to take in the views or play equipment for the kids. The play equipment will have a unique twist on more common styles typically seen in other areas. For example, the giant double slide is already in, so siblings or parents and kids can race each other down the slide. Most recently, a charming swing set modeled to look like a tree swing has been installed.
In addition, the extensive trail system will link to regional trails in the future. “One of the trail segments is in and it runs along the creek and open space area behind the current Keller and Vantage models,” says Nigon. The paved trail goes up past the detention pond, crosses Ridgeline Dr., and continues on to a future residential area.
A surplus of opportunities await at The Gathering Place, which is a beautiful four acres of land right in the heart of the community, reserved for fun and relaxation. Located on “Lake Ann,” The Gathering Place imparts a number of chances to connect with nature, family and friends. From here families can enjoy gently drifting in canoes, a peaceful moment of fishing, campfire pastimes or engaging with the community for events. “We are progressing with plans for the community clubhouse and hope to reveal more details later this year,” says Nigon. “The clubhouse will be situated adjacent to the pond and will boast lovely views of the mountains as well, not to mention numerous amenities and activities.”
This cherished land at The Farm has been enjoyed by the Allison family for seven decades. John Allison purchased the land, now known as The Farm, back in 1947; and then used the land to raise his thoroughbred racehorses and exotic cattle. The ponds – fed by Black Squirrel Creek – are named after his daughters. La Plata carried on the history of the racehorses by naming the streets after famous horses. The Allison family savored four joy-filled generations of growing vegetables, raising trout and tending to their horses and cattle. In 2013, John Allison’s daughter and grandchildren decided it was time to share the pristine and uplifting landscape with others. Families living at The Farm benefit from the highly regarded Academy District 20 schools; and The Farm has set aside 15 acres at the entrance for an elementary or middle school to be built at District 20’s discretion. Before long, families with school-aged children will enjoy the luxury of having a top notch school within walking distance.
